“There are 15 Members of executive committee who work voluntarily for the association.”
The PMWA was founded by some of the Pakistani elders who came to Woking from Pakistan during the 1960’s and 1970’s. The PMWA was formed by a democratic process in 1970 to meet the demands of the local Pakistani Muslim community at the time. Since then the numbers of both members and ethnic minorities have increased significantly. Although the association name includes ‘Pakistan Muslim’, it has since moved along and now includes Muslim members from all nationalities. The PMWA Association has continued to expand its membership, which now stands with over 4000 members.
